Ventilated Containers
They are also known as passive or coffee containers. These containers are equipped with ventilation openings on the top and at the side rails, which prevents spray from coming inside to avoid depreciation of the cargo by spray or rain. Lashing rings are installed on the upper as well as the side rails. It can take loads up to 1000 kg. It is specially used for cargos that need ventilation, for example green coffee beans.
Ventilated cargo
If your cargo that have to be ventilated in transit, then you need special containers to use. In this case ventilated containers, also known as passive (naturally) ventilated or coffee containers, are right for you. As the most significant commodity is green coffee beans, hence the name coffee container. Ventilation is provided by ventilation openings in the top and bottom side rails. As the openings do not let in spray, this prevents depreciation of the cargo by rain or spray.
Importance of cargo ventilation
If it is needed for the cargo, containers with adjustable ventilation or “porthole” containers may be used. Such containers simultaneously act as insulated or refrigerated containers. Lashing rings, that may tale loads of up to 1,000kg, are installed in the upper and lower side rails and the corner posts. The common size for ventilated containers is 20′.
